Carina Harte and Marion Van der Wel

Carina Harte is chairperson of Wicklow's Older People's Council (OPC) since May 2023. OPCs are representative groups of older people (over 55) who work together with key state and voluntary agencies to make Ireland and Wicklow a better place in which to grow old.

Carina will be joined by Marion Van der Wel, Wicklow Health Age Friendly Home Coordinator on 12-12-2024. Marion in her own work, carries out a needs assessment in people's homes to establish what supports are required to enable people to live independently in their own homes for as long as they can.

Carina Harte is Secretary of Delgany Commerce Council and is the Greystones Municipal District representative on the Public Partnership Network (PPN). Carina has worked as an economist on national economic financial and fiscal policies in the Central Bank of Ireland and HM Treasury in London. Her career as an economist in the public sector spanned over 30 years when she represented the Irish Central Bank and the British Government at EU and other international meetings.
