Welcome to the Greystones U3A.

We are based in the Greystones area, Co. Wicklow and we launched on 5th September 2019.

We are a voluntary organisation specifically for people of the 'Third Age' i.e. that stage in life when you might have a bit more time on your hands. It's also the time in life when you will have accumulated a great deal of erudition, expertise and wisdom. The U3A is an opportunity to share your knowledge and to learn from the wisdom of others, all in a relaxed and informal setting.

Our aim is to encourage lifelong learning, sharing skills and meeting new people and especially, to have a bit of fun while doing so. The social aspect of all U3A groups is very important, especially following retirement, relocation or bereavement. We want to provide an opportunity to enjoy ourselves in the company of friends, old and new, while still flexing the learning muscles. Singles, couples and groups are all welcome and you are free to participate as much or as little as you wish.

During the Covid lockdown we, like so many others, took to Zoom, but we're looking forward to meeting again, socially. If another lockdown occurs we can resort to Zoom, but in the meantime we're planning a much more social year. From September 2021 Greystones U3A will meet every fortnight at 10.30 a.m. in The Glenview Hotel, when we hope to be able to socialise again. The Glenview gives us the opportunity to meet safely; the room is particularly suited to social distancing and the staff are at pains to follow all government guidelines.

We'll have an informative talk from a wide range of topics and a chance to meet and chat over a cup of tea or coffee. If you've spent your life at work this might just be the chance to meet your local community and get to know new people. Click on Events for our upcoming talks.

Please note: Our Zoom talks, if they are necessary, are still usually held at 10.30 a.m. on Thursdays also . Any deviation from this day and time will be alerted with an email. Adaptability is the name of the game and we are certainly good at that!
